Citizen Science

We promote the citizens' agenda

We promote projects in which citizens lead the production of data and scientific evidence to advance their own agenda and improve the environment and quality of life in cities.

Active citizenship can contribute to digital social transformation.

To do this, we develop real and long-lasting projects from scratch in which people decide which scientific and research experiments are launched in response to their concerns. Our three axes of action are:

Communities

We want to achieve the necessary resilience to advance the citizen's agenda.

Public sector

We seek to co-develop strategies focused on change and improving the provision of public services.

Private sector

We approach problems holistically and promote the development of start-ups.

How can I contribute to science as a citizen and be part of the solution?

Our methodologies:

Citizen Innovation

'The Bristol Approach' is a methodological framework that seeks to ensure that new technologies developed within the framework of Smart City policies address the needs and priorities of people, particularly in communities that are in danger of being excluded from decision-making processes.

The model was developed jointly with the City of Bristol (United Kingdom) and the Knowle West Media Center, and has been adapted in the development of several European projects.

Participation in research projects

With the 'Citizen Engagement Framework', citizens actively participate in scientific research. The methodology helps pilot project leaders in the activity planning process, provides a lingua franca between consortium partners and helps analyze results.

The model has been used in projects such as CitieS-Health and a toolkit has been developed that collects the successful practices and participation strategies of various initiatives.
